Dr. Harkins received his Doctor of Medicine from LSU Medical School – New Orleans where he graduated with the Dean’s Award in 1989. He began his General Surgery Residency at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. He was selected as Outstanding Laparoscopic Resident – Surgeon and also presented an award-winning scientific presentation for the American College of Surgeons, Georgia Chapter.

Jantzen Thorns, MD, MPH

Jantzen Thorns was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army. Following basic training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Jantzen was trained as a combat medic at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas and as a licensed vocational nurse at Eisenhower Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.

Stacie Bohn is a board certified family nurse practitioner and registered nurse first assistant who brings over 28 years of healthcare experience to Surgical Advanced Specialty Center. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. Stacie earned her paramedic license while simultaneously earning her Associates of Science Degree in Nursing from Bakersfield College. [Learn More…]

Kristi has been a valuable member of the office staff for 15 years (2003). She grew up in Houston and currently lives in Magnolia. She and her husband have three wonderful children with one who is currently serving in the U.S. Navy. Kristi enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and cross stitching. Under her direction, everyone works together and strives to make your visit pleasant and comfortable.

Diana has been practicing as a Certified Medical Assistant where she has kept the medical clinic at Surgical Advanced Specialty Center running smoothly for over 12 years (2006). She is married and has two beautiful daughters. She loves the outdoors, anything sports related, and has an adventurous spirit. Her desire to provide the best clinical experience possible for our patients is summed up by her in a quote, “in every triumph there’s a lot of try” – Frank Tyger. Her willingness to give 110% and her passion for helping people are a winning combination… for you!

As the oldest of five children and a mother of two, she certainly knows how to keep things moving efficiently. She moved from Massachusetts, where she was born, to Texas in 1986. She now resides in Magnolia where she can’t get enough football. Her commitment to helping people is evident in her accomplishment of being a founding member of Intercept Ministries in Magnolia. She brings that same genuine “caring” with her every day to make your visit the best it can be!
